Found on the corner, facing the beach and bay, of one of the new apartment
blocks in Moraira, where there is a palm tree-lined square in the middle. It
looks touristy but it is frequented by locals, especially on Sunday
afternoons when whole families eat out. This is the place for long leisurely
lunches. A good salad then Arroz Abanda is highly recommended, otherwise good
quality fresh fish. Get there for 1pm and take your time and don't hurry -
the waiters (family run) don't mind!

This super Indonesian Restaurant has just opened in Moriara. Quite often
Chinese restaurants on the Costa Blanca offer what they pretend is Indonesian
food in their menus - but it is never as tasty nor as well presented as the
real thing. Try the Rijsttafel which comprised 16 different dishes. It is
excellent and good value. The restaurant has air conditioned smoking and non
smoking areas, as well as dining tables outside.

This one you have to try! Set in an old rustic farmhouse home of a very
eccentric Argentinean (a former opera singer who is known for his impromptu
recitals). They serve superb meats that are hung over a barbecue, an
Argentinean speciality, and you can have a light tapas for starters all
reasonably priced. The house wine, served in jugs, is recommended. They also
have a lovely outside terrace, with a small number of tables, with fantastic
valley views. An experience that is always enjoyable. Best to book either by
popping in during the day or by telephoning. There is a sign for the
restaurant on the Benitachell-Javea road, about 1 km from the traffic light
junction, where you turn right.

One of the longest established restaurants in the area, and regularly
recommended in the Michelin guide, the quality of the food and service is
always consistent and it is situated in central Moraira, by the seafront, and
specialising in locally caught fresh fish. Family run, the owners speak
English and provide an extremely efficient and friendly service that makes
each visit enjoyable - but it is pricey compared to other restaurants in the
region so set it aside as a night to dress up and enjoy a good meal. They do
a speciality of whole Sea Bass baked in salt, Lubina con sal which is quite
superb. They are open all day, serving excellent tapas in the separate bar
area and outside tables. It looks up-market but don't be put off as they are
far from snooty. Important - if the owners recommend something special that
is not on the menu then check the prices as they tend to suggest dishes that
are expensive!

Our favourite. Wonderful, Michelin recommended, restaurant serving excellent
food by a young Belgian couple, with bags of experience, and with spectacular
sea views from the restaurant and the laid-out terraces. A lot of money has
been spent on the layout of the restaurant and it is worth just visiting for
a drink at lunchtime on the outside terrace. There aren't many tables so
booking is essential during the summer, especially for the outside tables, as
it is known to be one of the best restaurants for outside dining in the area.
Particularly good value are their set priced lunches (Fri-Sun) and dinners
which includes wine, but you must request the lunch set menu. Closed Mondays,
mid Nov-mid Dec & mid Feb - mid March. Take the road to El Portet beach
and take the left walkway along the beach and the restaurant is above to the
left.

"Arroz con Morena", made from Moray eel has become his best known
dish. Its all very reasonably prices for the quality, and the Monday to
Saturday lunch menu is particularly good value.

Egon Abb offers on his menu a mixture from various
ethnic cuisines from the French, Arab and Asiatic kitchens. For example Porc

is excellent.

The French Onion soup is not to be missed. The steaks are cooked to perfection
and the Seafood cassarole is wonderful. It's not cheap, but well worth a meal

David (who trained with Jamie Oliver) cooks such lovely food, as Crispy Duck

with the most delicious home made sauces and sides of loads of roast potatoes,
mashed potato, mashed carrot and swede and brocolli, cauliflour and cabbage!!

extremely attractive set with tables around a lovely swimming pool and garden.
At night it is flood light and enchanting. There is also an air-conditioned
restaurant, which is very elegant and very professionally run.

The food has improved considerably lately, which is just
as well, as it is worth visiting just for the spectacular views of the whole
bay of Javea from this pleasant restaurant, perched on the top of Hotel Javea,
with windows on all sides and a glass roof that completely opens up. Go to
Javea port which is situated in the eastern corner of Javea bay and you will
see the Hotel Javea poking out on top.

Well away from the bustle of the front-line in Javea.
This very stylish, Michelin recommended, restaurant looks run-down from the
outside and ostentatious inside but looks can be deceptive! The waiters are friendly
and attentive and the food is very good indeed with an interesting procedure of
keeping one half of your main course warm on a hot tray whilst serving you the
first half. Take the road from Benitachell to Javea beach (a mile after
Benitachell and turn right with the sign for L'Scala to your right), and turn
right on the second set of traffic lights and the restaurant is set back to the
right.

A consistently good French restaurant in Javea with
friendly, efficient service from the two couples who run it and provide food
that is spot on and reasonably priced. The whole restaurant has a French feel
to it with pastel decor and large windows that open onto the street, and tables
on the pavement. Seasonal specials and desserts especially good. Found on one
of the street off the Javea beach area where the restaurants front the walkway.

very good fresh authentic dishes, especially paellas. Pretty outlook onto a

'rustic' villa which is popular and is best to book in advance. Take the road
from Benitachell to Javea beach (a mile after Benitachell and turn right with

Very good large bustling French restaurant on the main
promenade of restaurants on Javea beach. Looks touristy but they serve good
food at reasonable prices, considering its position. Seafood a speciality. Not
cheap.

More formal than Meson de Paco above (found on the same
road), similarly popular, and serves good food, in a beautiful Hacienda style
setting with plenty of outside tables. They even have an enclosed play area. No
children’s menu but they are happy for you to share or make a half portion.
Well worth a visit at lunch as menu del dia available at approx 14 euros. Full
nearly every night of the week Booking essential. Not cheap.

Popular and friendly restaurant that serves good Spanish
food at reasonable prices and has a large outside terrace with plenty of
tables. Large portions so order carefully and try the fish of the day. Take the
Benitachell-Javea road and you will see it on the right after about a mile.

Very easy to find as it is opposite the Parador in Javea
which is well signposted. This is a typical Spanish tapas bar that, although
being near the beach, still serves reasonably priced food for the locals and is
pleasant to look at. The menu is in Spanish but the family are very friendly
and helpful and you can point to the tapas display on the counter and you can
also order freshly cooked fish dishes.
